Rob Smith is the founder of SkyScan Solutions, LLC and the franchise owner of Blue Nose Aerial Imaging of Tampa Bay. Growing up in the Midwest, aviation has been at the core of his life from an early age. Rob started flying radio-controlled aircraft at just 8 years old and earned his pilot’s certification as a teenager. He went on to graduate with a Master’s degree in Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and currently serves as a full-time airline captain. In his off time, Rob enjoys playing guitar, sailing, cycling, and off-roading in his Jeep.

Beyond his career in aviation, Rob is deeply committed to giving back to the industry. He continues to teach aspiring pilots and has decades of experience as a Civil Air Patrol pilot flying search and rescue missions and producing aerial imagery for organizations like the USAF and FEMA. Rob is a professional FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot – fully insured and dedicated to the highest standards.

As an entrepreneur, Rob is passionate about providing his clients with tailored aerial imaging solutions that meet their unique business needs. Whether it’s large-scale construction site mapping or small-scale rooftop inspections, Rob’s expertise ensures that no project is too big or too small.
