Jay Aldea is the proud owner and operator of Blue Nose Aerial Imaging’s newest franchise, Blue Nose Imaging of North Charleston, serving the greater Charleston, South Carolina region. A retired Naval Officer, aviation professional, and long-time Lowcountry resident, Jay brings his mission focus, technical expertise, and a lifelong passion for all things aviation to the Blue Nose team.

As a career Intelligence Officer, Jay was well-versed in employing advanced aerial systems and collection methodologies to satisfy critical information requirements for both military and civilian decision-makers. Following his military retirement, Jay earned his FAA Commercial Pilot and several Flight Instructor certificates, establishing a highly successful flight school in the Charleston area that enabled hundreds of aspiring pilots achieve their aviation goals.

Jay now brings his same dedication to mission accomplishment and professional excellence to the Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) industry through Blue Nose Aerial Imaging of North Charleston. As a FAA Part 107-certified Remote Pilot, Jay blends his expertise in the intelligence and aviation fields to provide customers with aerial photography & videography, photogrammetry, and inspection services across multiple sectors, including real estate, construction, and infrastructure management. Jay specializes in using U.S-made, NDAA-approved sUAS systems such as the Freefly Astro for projects that cannot employ foreign-made drones.
